Trend Report: Dad Sneakers

The first thing I notice about a man is his footwear.  I think shoes tell you so much about a person; both demographics and psychographics.  I spent some time this week paying extra attention to footwear choices around the city and this is what I’ve discovered: footwear goes beyond genders.  Most footwear trends are gender neutral. Sneakers are huge right now with the athleisure movement and the desire for comfort. For me, comfort is everything, so I fully support this trend.  I mean, what’s not to love? Chunky dad sneakers are everywhere! And they are being worn by men, women, and everything in between. These dad sneakers are also being styled with so many looks.  They can be worn by everyone and for everything! This concept of gender neutrality is relatively new in the fashion industry, but it’s becoming very apparent in footwear.
