We’re young, and ambitious and ready to discover our future paths already! Some of us may just be starting college, and some of us are getting ready to turn our tassels to the left and (finally) graduate. As a whole, we are all just trying to figure it all out.

Many of us have learned college provides us with most of the information needed for our respectable careers, but we’re on our own with seeking out experience and our perfect career path. We are in our 20’s, and we have the right to do that. We don’t have to do things the traditional way anymore. We can craft our own path and shine our own light. We can look at the journey’s of others, and still know there is a way for us to make it as well. It’s just about taking this time to experience as much as we can because there is honestly no limit.

I’ve spent many hours searching on LinkedIn trying to find the exact career paths of my favorite career babes, and constantly feeling as though I haven’t done enough. An overwhelming feeling of doubt suddenly comes over me and tells me my two summer  internships are not enough to secure the competitive position of a fashion assistant after graduation. I’ve found myself constantly overthinking my high school decision of attending a school in a college town, instead of a metropolitan area which would have given extensive access to internships.

Originally this article was titled, “how did they get there?,” but I feel that in 2018, we should craft our own paths and live unapologetically. We should work more, and worry-less because we have so much time to figure things out.

If there is anything I learned from my friends who have recently graduated, it’s that things eventually work out. And sometimes your first job is not the career of your dreams, but it’s the stepping stone.

Finding your dream career is also about being patient and making the best of your current life. It’s about staying motivated regardless of your circumstance and putting in real, hard work. And finally it’s about trusting the process and staying hungry for more.
